If I leave a comment here will it show up only on this pic, or on the entire entry? You may delete… I was just curious; and my cat’s dead. Yay! I hate cats.

This is Jacob Vermeer, or was it Jan Vermeer? I never remember. Anyways, great painter, and the movie The girl with the pearl earring is also worth seeing.
I even stayed at what is supposed to be the house he lived in while I was in Delft. Great place, great painter.

That’s the “Girl with the Pearl Necklace” drawing, right? I wonder if that artist (John Vermeer?) got the idea for this drawing from that ZZ Top song? Too bad he dressed her in bedsheets. ZZ did it with bikini girls… John should have done this Pearl Necklace girl in one too, forget the bedsheets!

My English is not really good I living in Holland. But what I hate here is that not anybody knows that his name was Johannes Vermeer. And this painting name is ‘’Vrouw in balans'’ or ‘’goudweegster'’ or ‘’Vrouw met weegschaal'’! So thats all!

You are all wrong, I’m following a study in art, and in my studiebook is standing that this painting is made by Johannes Vermeer (most of you knew that)…But the title of this painting is not the ‘goudweegster’, or ‘the girl with the pearl necklace)..It’s called ‘De muziekles’, and in English that’s ‘The musiclesson’…This paint is made between 1662-1664…Well I said what I wanted to say, hope I helped all of you!

Hoi Stefanie,

We saw in class that this painting is called “de liefdesbrief” (love letter) and not “muziekles” (music lesson). Which one is it? I’m confused

great plugin. it’s a pity that there’s no “next”-button to view all images “in a row” without having to go back to the menu after every picture…
